Browse A-Z

Browse A-Z can help you if:

  • You know the name of an organization and want information about its services.
  • You want information about all organizations or programs that offer services on a particular subject.

Finding an Organization

If you know the name of the organization you are looking for, click on the letter of the alphabet that the name begins with.

For example, click on "I" to find "Integra." You will see a list of all organizations that begin with the letter "I":

Ie-thi-nis-ten:ha (Akwesasne Family Violence Program)
Immigrant and Visible Minority Women Against Abuse
Industrial Accident Victims Group of Ontario
Integra
Interval House

Scroll down the list to "Integra." Then, click on the name to see full information about its services.

The A-Z Search is useful when you know the name of an organization but are not sure how to spell it - for example: "Ie-thi-nis-ten:ha."

Finding a Subject

If you want to find information about services on a particular subject, choose the first letter of the alphabet that you think that subject would begin with.

For example, click on "D" to find information on "Disabilities." You will see a list of all subjects that begin with the letter "D":

Day programs (72)
Developmental disabilities (89)
Diabetes (26)
Disabilities (195)
Disability benefits (11)

Scroll down the list to "Disabilities."

You will notice a number in parentheses beside it (195). This tells you that there are 195 organizations or programs that offer services on this subject. Click on "Disabilities" to see a list of those organizations or programs.

If you cannot find a subject, try looking for similar words. For example, if you look under "H" for "Hearing," you will not find it. Try "Deafness" or "Impaired hearing" instead.

You can also use this feature to familiarize yourself with the subjects used on 211Toronto.ca. Spend some time browsing if you can.
