type of violence including physical or sexual assault, psychological or emotional
abuse, stalking or financial abuse. Includes accompaniment services, crisis
intervention, emergency treatments, legal services, and family violence support
services.
Child protective services
Investigation and intervention to ensure the safety and well-being of children
who have witnessed or are vulnerable to abuse, neglect or exploitation.
Counselling for abused women
Counseling services for women who have experienced or are at risk of abuse.
Crisis lines for abused women
Telephone support for women who have experienced or are at risk of abuse.
Sexual and domestic assault treatment centres
Emergency hospital-based treatment for women, children or men who have experienced
domestic violence or have been sexually assaulted. See individual records for

Shelters for abused women
Safe emergency accommodation with telephone crisis lines for women who have
experienced or are at risk of domestic violence. Assaulted Women's Helpline
416-863-0511 (TTY 416 364-8762). Outside 416 area 1-866-863-0511 (TTY 1-866-863-7868).
